Senior Manager, Product Development US - Aegon Asset Management
Responsibilities:
- Lead the project management and launch of new fund vehicles including registered funds, ( i.e., 40 Act, CITs, ETFs) and private funds (PE-style, REITs).
- Evaluate and develop new vehicles that will enable the distribution of investment strategies globally, including liquid syndicated and illiquid originated assets.
- Subject matter expert on U.S. fund vehicles, including the associated tax implications, to support the distribution of new and existing strategy capabilities.
- Responsible for leading the project management of new fund launches based in the Americas, with the ability to engage with senior subject matter experts (i.e. portfolio management, legal, operations, accounting, finance, compliance, and risk) and assess pre-launch readiness.
- Support regulatory and other filing requirement for the U.S. platform.
- Product representative with legal, risk and compliance to address new regulatory changes impacting U.S. and offshore fund/wrappers.
- Assist in the management of seed capital and recommend appropriate allocation for wrappers supporting Americas clients.
- Responsible for preparation of committee and board material.
- Act as a firm-wide resource for product platform information.
- Serve as a subject matter expert to provide guidance and detailed product information to portfolio managers, marketing, sales, and clients related to due diligence.
Required Qualifications:
- Ten years or more of related experience in the asset management industry, including roles leading product development and implementation initiatives in asset management.
- Direct experience in key support functions such as, operations, legal, and/or accounting.
- Proven track record of launching new fund vehicles.
- Strong organization skills with a demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional product initiatives.
- Strong understanding of product wrappers (e.g. private placements, 40 Act registered, collective trusts, ETFs, off-shore funds including UCITS).
- Understanding of the related U.S. regulatory and tax regimes.
- Ability to work in a deadline driven environment taking a product initiative from idea through to implementation and launch.
- Quantitative/qualitative problem solving and research skills.
- Communication skills for frequent interaction with senior leaders, portfolio managers and distribution staff.
- Ability to influence team members and take ownership of projects and execute on strategy.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA/CFA.
